Useful Tips

  • Don’t hang shower caddies from your shower head – contents weight can break the pipe.
  • Hose bibs (outside faucets) will freeze even if they are “frost proof” if you do not disconnect hoses and or attachments prior to freezing temps.
  • Flush out tank water heaters and well tanks annually.
  • Replace rubber washing machine hoses with braided steel “burst-proof” type.
  • Have drinking water tested by a state-accredited laboratory.
  • Running toilets will significantly raise your water bill.
  • Leaks under bathrooms are not always plumbing-related but instead might be an issue with failing grout or a shower door seal.
  • Whole-house sediment filters are a must in this geographic area.
  • Not all plumbing products are created equal! You may find many brand name products available in some of the “large home centers” priced somewhat lower than if purchased from a plumbing supply house. Many large distributors have manufacturers make products similar to their current line, but at lower quality to meet their desired price point. We understand everyone has a budget and will install the product of your choosing, but we want our customers to be educated consumers.
